Abstract submission is now closed.
Abstract Submission Guidelines: Oral Presentation
A maximum of ten minutes are scheduled for each oral presentation.
Please note if there is more than one presenter the maximum time allowed is still ten minutes.
Individual abstracts for oral presentations should be 300 words long and need to be uploaded online (submission form) before . Please use the listed abstract headings within your oral presentation abstract.
Accepted Oral Presenters must register before 17th May 2022 to be included in the programme.
All oral presentations will be in person at the NUI Galway campus on 16th June.
Abstract Submission Guidelines: Poster Presentation
Individual poster abstracts should be 300 words long and need to be uploaded online (submission form). You must use the listed abstract headings within your poster abstract.
Poster viewing will take in the morning break and presenters are requested to be in the poster venue at this time to answer any delegate questions.
Accepted Poster Presenters must register before 17th May 2022 to be included in the programme.
All posters must be displayed in the poster venue by 9am on the day.
Headings for the Abstract Submission Form:
- Abstract title (please ensure your Word document file is uploaded with the presentation title)
- Most relevant theme
- Presenting author and affiliation
- Presenting author email (communication will be made with the presenting author only and they are responsible for liaising with any other authors)
- Other authors with their affiliations
- Introduction/Purpose
- Method/Design/Approach
- Results/Findings
- Discussion/Lessons Learnt
- Practical or Social or Research Implications
- Contact email for delegate questions during and after the conference (this will be included along with your abstract in the conference booklet).
Abstract Submission Form
There is a prize for the best presentation sponsored by the Association for Health Promotion Ireland.
Abstract Reviewing
All abstracts will be reviewed by the Organizing Committee and will be judged on the following:
- Link to the conference themes
- Description of the learning and challenges experienced
- Interest to the target audience
- Contribution to scholarship or practice
- Method
- Overall quality.
Notification of abstract acceptance is two weeks after abstract submission closing date. Final acceptance is conditional upon registration of presenters.
The Organising Committee reserve the right to move an oral or poster presentation to a different theme, depending on the slots available. As only a limited number of timeslots for oral presentations are available, presentations more suited to a poster presentation, may be offered this opportunity for inclusion.
Please note that the HPRC principles of funding do not allow us to work with, or for, the tobacco, alcohol or arms industries, gambling or pharma. Partnerships or sponsorship will not be considered appropriate where there is a fundamental mismatch of goals and objectives with those of the HPRC. This extends to the funding of activity presented at our annual Health Promotion conference.
If your work has been funded by any of these industries, please do not submit an abstract as it will be rejected.
